Reagan Purcell Architects was originally formed as John Reagan Architects in 1986 to focus on community planning and residential design. Since that time, the scope of work has expanded to include civic, recreational and commercial projects within planned communities and existing urban neighborhoods. Reagan Purcell is a full service architectural firm with a professional staff of registered and LEED certified architects.

John Reagan graduated from Ohio State University and completed a Master's Degree in Architecture at Columbia University where he was a William Kinne Fellow. After working at Eisenman Robertson Architects in New York, he was an Assistant Professor at Ohio State from 1983 through 1990 where he taught design studios with Peter Eisenman. He has been a guest critic at Cooper Union, Harvard, and Notre Dame and lectures on Architecture and Urbanism. Along with other commission and board work, John is a member of the New Urban Guild and the Planning Commission for the City of Bexley, Ohio.

Sara Purcell joined John Reagan Architects as a partner in 1994. She graduated from the University of Michigan and studied public housing in Denmark before receiving a Master's Degree in Architecture from Columbia University. After working for Mitchell Guirgola Architects and Naomi Leff and Associates, she started her own architectural practice in New York. The focus of the practice became private homes and commercial projects for Ralph Lauren. Reflecting her interest in sustainable architecture, Sara is a LEED accredited architect.
