Residence in Bratenahl, Ohio
This brick, stone and shingle home is one of four adjacent residences built on a bluff overlooking Lake Erie. Each in their own way, reflect the architectural heritage present in many of the structures of Bratenahl. By using complimentary materials, forms and detailing, they exchange an aesthetic dialogue while maintaining their unique individual character.

A series of axial spaces from the motor court through to the great hall organize this house to set up a visual connection to the lake beyond. To the lake, the house presents its most formal and grand facade. A large central gable continues along the central axis of the house and is flanked by two smaller sweeping gables.
