Residence in New Albany, Ohio Building on the characteristics of traditional country estates, this house is defined in its massing through the articulation of individual elements. These program elements of the house are assembled in relation to the siting and organizational strategy to create an open courtyard scheme on the crest of a hill. This reinforces the hierarchy established from the main block of the house to the support wings and service spaces. This allows a scale breakdown of the large house while creating the figural spaces of the courts. |
